English 10
Welcome to English 10! I am excited to welcome you (back) to Hartland High School and English 10! This course is designed to strengthen your reading, writing, speaking, listening, and thinking skills. We will analyze a variety of literary forms such as short stories, poetry, fiction, drama, and novel. Major authors studied include John Steinbeck, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Arthur Miller, as well as nonfiction. Students will also have the opportunity to read novels of their choice. There is a concentration on grammar, vocabulary development, and the writing process. Several writing assignments will be completed, including a literary analysis piece and a formal research paper.
I look forward to a great year with our sophomores!
